Hi, my mom has had lower back pain for about 20 years.
She’s gone through everything, including acupuncture and seeing a chiropractor/specialists… they make her take some meds, but there is still some pain.
She’s lately tried using a new method of back pain relief by getting someone to lightly hit her back with the bottom of the hands (i.e. the bottom part of the hand when you’re doing the thumbs-up sign).
Supposedly, this gives pain relief for a while… but what I’m concerned about is if it will make things WORSE in the long-run. For example, will doing this permanently damage the back muscles/spine, etc.
Can I get some feedback on this ‘method’ ?
She developed chronic back pain during pregnancy…
And no, she hasn’t had anything surgical/injected…
And please focus about this method too! thanks!
I guess it depends on why her back is hurting. Did she have some kind of injury? Has she seen an orthopedic surgeon? Has she had the nerve block injections? The injections only relieve pain for a couple of months. She might benefit from surgery. I dont think that what she is doing sound so threatening but If I were her I would see a Dr. and ask for an MRI to be done, and let the Dr. know of her new method.

ever since i’ve lifted ive had back pain. i have huge biceps, a big chest, im running to build my lower back and legs and yet my upper back still hurts (shoulder blades/lats area). looking back ive used proper form on every exercise.. but one thing im missing is shoulder exercises. if i started working my shoulders would this pain go away, or has anyone else experienced this?
answer is, and i work out too, is because your probably using your back muscles to support yourself instead of your legs. Secondly if your over thirty, your prone to stuff like that. Im 18, and my body can handle the stress.

I ovulated sometime between Sunday and Monday (I got a positive ovulation test on Sunday). All day sunday and Monday, I had cramping on my left side in the abdomen area. Today I have had twinges of pain (dull) in my abdomen, and my lower back mostly on the left side hurts. Is this a sign of fertilization or something?
It could be! I swore I was having signs of fertilization at 4 days past ovulation and well I am pregnant. So, you very well may be dear!!!!
