are electro muscle stimulator good for low back pain?

I dont know.

I hurt my back somehow, lower back. I mainly had issues first thing in the morning but it was getting progressively worse and starting to bother me during the day. I tried using a heating pad and taking 400 mg of Ibuprofin and it gave me minimum relief so I went to the doctor since my back was not getting any better. I weigh 230 pounds and 6′1".

She prescribed 800 mg of ibuprofin 3 times a day(every time I ate). She also had me take an acid reflux pill first thing in the morning because of the high dose of ibuprofin,which she stated would tear up my stomach. She also prescribed flexeril at bedtime, which is a muscle relaxer as I was told. She had me xrayed to make sure it was not a spinal problem. My xrays came back negative so it was simply a sprained muscle.

The ibuprofin you can get over the counter and the acid reflux pill. But you really should goto a doctor as my pain might be different from yours … mine did not hurt to go side to side only when getting up from a chair or out of bed. You could have a slipped disk or other spinal problem.

I do aerobics, weight train, and run on a treadmill, and my lower back hurts all the time. Running shoes seem to make it worse. Anyone have experience with New Balance Cross Trainers?

Since different styles of running demand different styles of shoes…

The best thing you can do is go down a Running Lab. In fact there’s a place by that name; "Running Lab."

They will have you take off your shoes, watch you walk, and even take an imprint of your foot. After doing so, they will spend a few minutes analyzing everything. They will ask you a few questions about your running style and your level of running.

Once they have finished they will direct you to a wall of shoes, that has ALL different brands of shoes on it and say something like; "These are what we recommend for you based on your foot’s shape, the way you run, where your foot actually impacts the ground and the width of slimness of your feet.

After they show you the selection, try a few pairs on, take them for a "test run" around the block and once you’ve found a pair that you like, then get them.

They are GREAT! My spouse has ran a marathon and we are training once again for another one coming up in May. We always go to the running lab. Oh…and the shoes, are sold at a great price too.

I’ve personally used the Running Lab, along with my spouse and many others, they are FANTASTIC! And they have all kinds of different Brands of shoes. From Nike to New Balance. =)

Hope this helps…oh, the shoes that I picked out ended up being about $80 or so.

I’m 28 wks pregnant and have been feeling low back aches. I was just wondering if it’s normal???
Sometimes when I lay down it hurts a little more.. It hurts more when im lying down..

Any experience with it?

Yes.. completely normal. .. and terrible! try laying on a heating pad, it helped me.
